Multi-phase SaaS Platform Transformation
Leading the complete UX/UI transformation of Driver Training's enterprise learning platform. A complex SaaS solution serving 130,000+ users monthly, from individual learners to New Zealand's largest transport companies managing 1000+ staff training programmes.
Working closely with TR Group over multiple phases, I redesigned the core platform experience from the ground up, tackling everything from mobile-first in-vehicle training systems to enterprise dashboards and commercial trainee management tools. The original in-vehicle training design won the FRUEHAUF Outstanding Contribution to Innovation Award from Transporting New Zealand.
The solution is large and limits on what can be done.
Key achievements across all phases:
Delivered award-winning mobile-first design: Created interactive Adobe XD prototypes for an in-vehicle training system used by heavy vehicle drivers, focussing on clarity and quick access in real-world moving vehicle contexts.
Transformed a complex SaaS platform at scale: Redesigned course catalogue pages, checkout flows, trainee management systems, certificate downloads, and back-end admin tools.
Reduced visual complexity through elemental design: Applied learnings from my Auckland Design Week keynote to reduce elemental load across busy pages.
Designed enterprise-grade management tools: Created semi-customisable dashboard systems for corporate power users, including a calendar solution handling multiple events, trainees, and alerts.
Improved conversion and engagement pathways: Redesigned course discovery, filtering, upselling opportunities, and Google Wallet integration.
Scaled for diverse user personas: Balanced UX needs across a massive range of users.
This multi-phase engagement demonstrates the impact of iterative, user-centred design at enterprise scale, turning complexity into intuitive, accessible experiences that support career development for thousands of transport professionals.n text goes here

End-to-End Product Design: Concept to Webflow Delivery
Led the complete product design and front-end build for Fenda, a digital platform reimagining New Zealand's second-hand car market. Working with founder Jeff Knight, I transformed his vision for a safer, streamlined private vehicle transaction platform into a fully designed and developed web application built in Webflow.
The project addressed a critical market gap: private car sales in New Zealand carried high risks with little buyer/seller support, whilst the core transaction process hadn't evolved since the 1980s. Fenda aimed to provide world-class technology and financial services so buyers could purchase privately with confidence.
Key achievements:
Delivered full-stack design from brand to build: created the Fenda wordmark (customised Gotham), developed complete UX strategy, wireframed desktop and mobile experiences through 14 iterations, and built the entire front-end in Webflow.
Designed complex negotiation system: DealStrike - enabling offers, counter-offers, finance applications, and insurance integration with step-by-step mobile pathways to reduce user friction across daunting multi-page application flows.
Built scalable listing and search infrastructure: implemented CSS Grid for vehicle catalogues, responsive breakpoints, and designed interactive elements with hover states, animations, and form validation.
Collaborated with development team: worked alongside Endev developers using a developer-first Webflow approach.
Extended to marketing and launch materials: designed promotional collateral, teardrop banners, branded polo shirts, car signage, and social media assets to create cohesive brand visibility at launch.
The project demonstrated end-to-end product design capabilities, from strategic brand development through to functional front-end delivery, creating a platform that merged innovative financial services with intuitive user experience design for New Zealand's vehicle market.

Multi-Product UX Transformation
Led design strategy across two key Dataprint platforms: the InMotion bulk mail management system for enterprise clients and a white-label District Health Board (DHB) appointment booking solution for New Zealand's healthcare sector.
Working closely with Dataprint's development team, I delivered end-to-end design solutions that bridged complex backend infrastructure with simple, accessible user interfaces.
Key achievements:
Delivered comprehensive product redesign: created 24-page strategic review for InMotion, then designed the complete interface from login screens to paginated data views and bulk editing workflows with innovative rotating card systems for managing large datasets.
Designed scalable healthcare booking system : created responsive UX pathways for white-label DHB appointment platform, handling complex booking flows across mobile and desktop with seamless reschedule/cancel functionality and alternative suggestions when slots were unavailable.
Built flexible white-label architecture: designed DHB solution to be easily rebranded across different District Health Boards nationally, adapting colours, logos, and text whilst maintaining consistent user experience.
Embedded collaborative design process: worked on-site with developers providing real-time design direction and detailed feedback documentation to ensure smooth implementation.
Both projects demonstrated how thoughtful UX design can transform complex administrative systems into accessible tools serving real-world needs across enterprise communications and critical healthcare appointments.

Freedom Furniture Australia | via Triquestra > Omnichannel E-commerce Transformation
Led the end-to-end product design for Freedom Furniture Australia's major digital transformation, bringing their big box retail experience online with a unified commerce platform that connected directly to their brick-and-mortar stores in real-time.
Working as part of the Triquestra team, I drove the design strategy for integrating their Infinity retail system (POS, back-office, loyalty, and inventory) into a seamless omnichannel website experience. This meant every touchpoint, from stock levels and pricing to promotions and ordering, synced perfectly across digital and physical retail.
Key achievements:
Scaled complex UX delivery: Managed wireframing for the entire desktop and mobile experience, with the homepage alone spanning 16 pages and 35 iterations before board sign-off
Led cross-functional design execution: Directed briefing, wireframing, visual design, and prototyping workflows, scaling the team by bringing in additional designers (Phil Bannister and Tracey Hemingway) to meet project demands
Interactive prototyping: Introduced Invision to the workflow, creating clickable prototypes that demonstrated navigation and product interactions, making stakeholder buy-in smoother
Evolved UX methodology: Championed a shift from "best practice" approaches to user-centered design that prioritized meeting diverse customer needs and browsing behaviors, particularly around choice architecture
Managed stakeholder complexity – Navigated extensive integration requirements and multiple stakeholder groups, translating technical constraints and business goals into engaging design solutions
This project represented a significant leap in retail digital transformation, fusing modern e-commerce expectations with enterprise-grade retail systems to create a truly frictionless customer experience.

Franchise-Driven Unique Stock Model & Responsive E-commerce Platform
Head of the design for Liquorland's new franchise-driven e-commerce platform, introducing a unique stock model that reflected individual store inventory across their franchise network. Working as part of the Triquestra team, I designed a responsive website that balanced corporate brand consistency with independent franchise stock holdings.
This project required solving a complex challenge: creating a unified online shopping experience whilst accurately representing the diverse inventory of individual Liquorland franchise stores across New Zealand.
Key achievements:
Designed a franchise omnichannel solution: a new approach to e-commerce for Liquorland that displayed real-time, location-based inventory, ensuring customers saw accurate product availability for their chosen location.
Delivered extensive wireframing across platforms: created comprehensive desktop and mobile wireframes defining the complete user experience, from product discovery and filtering through to checkout and store selection flows.
Established logical product organisation: designed intuitive product pods and categorisation systems that made navigating straightforward and efficient for customers.
Led responsive design implementation: directed the design from wireframe through to build and final art direction, ensuring the interface worked seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Bridged franchise and corporate needs: created a design solution that served both the corporate brand requirements and the practical operational needs of individual franchise owners managing their own stock and pricing.
The project delivered a modern, functional e-commerce platform that respected the franchise model whilst providing customers with a transparent, user-friendly shopping experience that accurately reflected what was available at their local Liquorland store.
